Nelson Building & Development Headquarters - Buffalo, MN

NBD is growing!  Nelson Building and Development have outgrown their current facilities are moving.  NBD’s new facility will be located just north of Buffalo on Hwy 25.  The new 12,000 s/f facility will include needed office space, conference rooms, tool and document storage.  The design utilizes a blend of burnished block, Minnesota stone, colored glass and metal panels giving a distinctive appearance.  In addition, the building has been carefully designed to be certified as a LEED building by the USGBC.

Monticello Dental Clinic - Monticello, MN

NBD was the Design/Build contractor for a 6,400 s/f dental clinic just north of Monticello, MN.  This new 14 chair clinic will boast leading edge technology coupled with warm design and finishes to create an atmosphere both professional and appealing.  The structure of the building draws upon influences of the western US chalet style as seen in and around Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  The interior operatories will benefit from indirect natural light drawn from the dormers.  The Monticello Dental Clinic was completed and scheduling patients at their new location in the summer of 2007.   

Grand Central Commons - Columbia Heights, MN

This project is a two-level multi-use redevelopment project with approximately 52,000 S/F of office and retail lease space located on the NE corner of Central Avenue North and 47th Street in Columbia Heights.  Along with this a single level (190) car parking ramp will be constructed.  Exterior finishes will be a mix of stone, brick, EFIS and metal panels.  Primary tenants will be Aldi's and Buffalo Wild wings. Work will begin in the summer of 2008 with an anticipated opening date early in 2009.

Northland Circle Office Building - Brooklyn Park, MN

NBD was chosen to design and build this exciting new office building located at the southeast intersection of Northland Court and Northland Circle.  The site is exceptional, bounded by the cul-de-sac to the north, the roundabout to the northwest and the Shingle Creek watershed to the southeast.

This Class A office building has a three-story atrium and enclosed underground parking.  Intended as a professional office building the owner and anchor tenant is a law firm. The building is designed and situated to fit the site and maximize the views of the watershed.  Exterior building materials of burnished concrete masonry units and dark anodized aluminum frames with tinted glazing are chosen to match the vernacular of the modern office building.  The front of the building in plan view curves using the 152’ radius from the center of the roundabout at the roadway intersections.  That same radius was used on the front of the building elevation to provide a stunning architectural element.

Buffalo Utility Campus - Buffalo, MN

The City of Buffalo selected Nelson Building as it's contractor for it's new Public Utilities Campus. The city utility employees enjoy housing their vehicles and officing out of this new 12,000 s/f building. The building exterior is a mixture of pre-cast, brick and metal wall panels which create an appealing façade. The architect/engineer was SEH out of St. Cloud.

Crown College - St. Bonifacius, MN

Crown College, St. Bonifacius, MN, selected NBD as it's design/builder for a new Nursing Program education space.  Approx. 2,300 sf of existing office space was converted to a simulated hospital patient care area.  Work included: patient bed space, medical gas headwall units, architectural millwork, building egress revisions, control & equipment rooms, finishes, and mechanical / electrical upgrades.  Work was completed on schedule.

Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Assoc. - Rockford, MN

NBD is in the construction phase of Phase II of this project.  This phase consists of upgrades and remodeling to the majority of the building’s office area with a complete redesign of the workstation layout utilizing "systems furniture".  Phase I, completed last year, included the addition of an executive office suite and conference rooms.  NBD is also beginning the design work on Phase III, which will include renovation of the dining area, the board room, lobby and other shared spaces.  Phase II construction will complete by Fall of 2007, with Phase III construction scheduled to start early in 2008.

T-Square Business Park - Albertville, MN

Another Design/Build project for Nelson Building & Development. This building is a one-story, 6,400 sq. ft. professional office building. The Owner will anchor the north half of the building. The building takes its wing-shape plan from the site as an attempt to save in soil remediation costs. Also, a central design theme was to showcase the Owner's innovative structural solutions. The central lobby is open, transparent and accessible to all visitors and users of the building. Construction began in the April of 2006 and was completed in September of 2006.

O'Borsky Office Building - Buffalo, MN

NBD completed this 4,500 S/F medical office facility in Buffalo, MN. The owner of the project is Dr. Michael O’Borsky who will be using the space for his podiatry clinic with an additional 1300 S/F of leasable space. The architect on the project is Jed Larson of Larson Associates who used a combination of stone, stucco, and low pitched roof-lines to create an aesthetically pleasant design. This project was completed September 2004.
